Shoplifting Reported by Food Basics

At 7:51 pm, P.O. James McGill responded to the Food Basics on Lincoln Ave on a report of a shoplifting that had just occurred.  The store manager stated that the actor hid two cans of baby formula under his jacket and walked out of the store.  Officers checked the area for the actor with negative results.  The Glen Rock Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating.

Two Juveniles Arrested for Shoplifting

At 5:30 pm, P.O. Lucas Doney responded to the Food Basics on Lincoln Ave on a report of a shoplifting that had just occurred.  Upon arrival, P.O. Doney arrested two Paramus juveniles for attempting to shoplift a total of 6 bottles of alcohol from the store.  Both juveniles were released to their relatives pending juvenile complaints by P.O. Doney.

MV Stop leads to Warrant Arrest

At 10:02 am, P.O. Anna Mattina arrested a 34 year old Glen Rock woman after it was determined that she had an outstanding warrant out of the Glen Rock Municipal Court.  The woman was released after posting a total of $250.00 bail.

MV Stop leads to Narcotics and D.W.I. Arrest

At 6:07 pm, during the course of a motor vehicle stop, P.O. Michael Trover arrested a 39 year old Haskell man for driving while intoxicated.  The man was also found to be in possession of heroin.  The man was charged with possession of heroin as well as being under the influence of CDS.  The man was also issued several motor vehicle summonses.  The mans vehicle was impounded in accordance to John's Law.  The man was released to a family member with a mandatory court date in the Glen Rock Municipal Court.

Several Juveniles Arrested for Possession of Alcohol

At 4:33 pm, P.O. Bryan Scott arrested several Glen Rock juveniles subsequent to a check of a local park, after it was discovered that the juveniles were in possession of alcohol. The juveniles were released to the custody of their parents pending juvenile complaints by P.O. Scott.

At 11:50 am, P.O. Greg Carter arrested a 55 year old Fair Lawn man after it was determined that he had outstanding warrants out of the Morris Plains and Glen Rock Municipal Courts.  The man was released after posting a total of $285.00 bail for both warrants.

Robbery and Home Invasion Reported

At 11:55 pm, a Jerome Ave resident reported a home invasion and robbery had just occurred.  The victim stated that 2 males forced their way into his home, assaulted him, and then fled after stealing money from his home.   Glen Rock officers and surrounding police departments searched the area for the actors with negative results.  The Bergen County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Unit responded to assist in the collecting of evidence.  The Glen Rock Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating.

MV Stop Leads to D.W.I., Narcotics, and Warrant Arrests

At 6:09 pm, P.O. Greg Carter arrested a 26 year old Greenwood Lake NY woman while conducting a motor vehicle stop.  During the stop, the woman driver was found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance as well as drug paraphernalia and was driving under the influence.  A 26 year old male passenger from Monroe NY, was also charged by P.O. Carter with possession of CDS.  The third party in the vehicle, a 25 year old male out of Monroe NY, was arrested by P.O. Scott McGovern for an outstanding warrant out of the Newark Municipal Court in the amount of $5,000.00.

The driver and passenger arrested by P.O. Carter were charged and released with a mandatory court date in the Glen Rock Municipal Court.  The third passenger was released with a new mandatory court date in the Newark Municipal Court.

MV Stop Leads to Narcotics Arrest

At 6:09 pm, P.O. Michael Trover arrested a 45 year old Wanaque man while conducting a motor vehicle stop.  During the stop, the male driver was found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.  The man was charged with two counts of possession of CDS and was also issued several motor vehicle summonses.  The man was released pending a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

Man Arrested D.W.I, Under the Influence of CDS, and Possession of a Weapon, 

At 9:54 pm, during the course of a motor vehicle stop, P.O. Murray Yang arrested a 23 year old Fair Lawn man for driving while intoxicated.  The man was also charged by P.O. Yang with being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and being in possession of an unlawful weapon.  The man issued several summonses and his vehicle was impounded in accordance to John's Law.  The man was released to a family member pending a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

Man Arrested for Possessing a Fake Drivers License

At 4:42 pm, during the course of a motor vehicle stop, P.O. Bryan Scott arrested a 19 year old Ridgewood man for possessing a fake drivers license.  The man was released with a mandatory court date in the Glen Rock Municipal Court.

Man Arrested for Shoplifting and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

At 5:44 pm, P.O. Scott McGovern arrested a 44 year old Paterson man for shoplifting from the Bottle King on Prospect St. The man was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The man was charged by P.O. McGovern with shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia. Upon further investigation by the Glen Rock Police Department Detective Bureau, the actor was also charged by Det. Calaski with two additional counts of shoplifting for previous occasions in which the actor had stolen items from Bottle King.  The man was transported to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of $4,500.00 bail.

At 8:49 pm, P.O. Robert Surdyka arrested a 26 year old Paterson woman after it was determined that she had an outstanding warrant out of the Morris Twp Municipal Court.  The woman was released after posting $305.00 bail.

At 3:00 am, during the course of a motor vehicle stop, P.O. Bryan Scott arrested a 27 year old Paterson man for driving while intoxicated.  The man was also found to be in possession of marijuana (under 50 grams).  The man was charged with possession of marijuana and was issued several motor vehicle summons including driving while intoxicated and refusing to submit to the Alcotest.  The mans vehicle was impounded in accordance to John's Law.  The man was released to a friend after he posted $2000.00 bail on open warrants out of the Clifton Municipal Court.  He has a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

At 2:32 am, P.O. Michael Trover arrested a 36 year old Waldwick woman after it was determined that she had an outstanding felony fugitive warrant out of Clarkstown NY for robbery.  The female was charged with being a fugitive from justice and was transported to the Bergen County Jail pending extradition back to Clarkstown NY.

Paterson Man Arrested for Theft

At 2:00 am, officers were dispatched to a Lincoln Ave store on a report of a theft in progress.  Once on scene, P.O. Anna Mattina arrested a 43 year old Paterson man for attempting to steal several pallets of bound cardboard from the rear of the business.  The man was charged with theft of moveable property and released with a court date in the Glen Rock Municipal Court.  Upon further investigation by the Glen Rock Police Department Detective Bureau, Det. Calaski also charged the actor with receiving stolen property for other stolen pallets of cardboard that were found in the actors vehicle.

At 11:11 pm, while investigating a motor vehicle accident, P.O. Michael Trover arrested a 54 year old Glen Rock man for driving while intoxicated.  The man was issued several summons and his vehicle was impounded in accordance to John's Law.  The man was released to a family member pending a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

At 12:40 am, P.O. Michael Trover arrested a 22 year old Lincoln Park man after it was determined that he had outstanding warrants out of the Wayne and Woodbridge Municipal Courts.  The man was released after posting a total of $1,500.00 for both warrants.  Also arrested during the stop was a 20 year of Lincoln Park woman after it was determined that she had an outstanding felony fugitive warrant out of Nassau County NY.  The female was charged with being a fugitive from justice and was transported to the Bergen County Jail pending extradition back to Nassau County NY.

At 9:04 pm, a Fairmount Avenue resident reported that unknown actor(s) entered their home after forcing open a rear basement door. The actor(s) then ransacked the home and stole cash and jewelry.  The Bergen County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Unit responded to assist in the collecting of evidence.  The Glen Rock Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating.

At 1:37 am, while checking out a suspicious vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway,  P.O. Anna Mattina arrested a 27 year old Hackensack woman for driving while intoxicated.  The woman was issued a summons for driving while intoxicated and her vehicle was impounded in accordance to John's Law.  The woman was released to a family member pending a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

Dean Ackermann arrested a 21 year old South Carolina man and charged him with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.  Bail was set at $5,000.00 and the man was transported to the Bergen County Jail with a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

At 2:41 pm, P.O. Michael Trover arrested a 28 year old Kerhonkson, New York woman pursuant to a motor vehicle stop and charged her with driving under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, tampering with evidence, obstruction, hindering apprehension, and under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.  The woman was issued several summons and released to a family friend pending a mandatory appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

At 2:50 am, Sgt. Christopher McInerney arrested a 38 year old Waldwick man for a outstanding warrant after he attempted to hitchhike on Lincoln Avenue.  The man posted $132 bail and was released.

At 2:19 pm, a N.J. State Parole Officer arrested a 30 year old Glen Rock man and charged him with violation of community supervision, possession of a handgun by person not authorized due to prior conviction and possession of marijuana under 50 grams.  The man was released pending a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

At 11:06 am, P.O. Michael Trover arrested a 45 year old Paterson man for a outstanding warrant out of Hackensack Municipal Court.  The man was unable to post $2500 bail and was turned over to the Hackensack Police Department.

Drug Arrest

At 2:45 pm, Sgt. Dean Ackermann, Sgt. Daniel Dour, P.O. Michael Trover, P.O. Bryan Scott, and members of the Fair Lawn Police Department arrested a 24 year old Hewitt woman, a 21 year old Lodi man, and a 22 year old West Milford man and charged them with possession of heroin with intent to distribute and possession of hypodermic needles after they were spotted in a local parking lot.  They were found to be in possession of multiple bags of heroin and multiple syringes.  All three parties were charged and released pending a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

Man Arrested for Drug Paraphernalia

At 5:29 pm, P.O. Scott McGovern arrested a 26 year old Passaic man and charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia.  The man was charged, issued several motor vehicle summons and released with a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

Shoplifting on Prospect Street

At 7:57 pm, Patrol Units were dispatched to a store on Prospect Street on a report of a shoplifting in progress.  Upon arrival, the actors had fled the store and the area in a unknown make or model vehicle.  A check of the area produced negative results.  Proceeds of the shoplifting totaled $37.  Detective Bureau was notified and is investigating.

Theft of a Bicycle

At 4:35 pm, a Glen Rock man reported his bicycle, valued at approximately $200 was stolen when it was left unlocked outside the Glen Rock Library.  The man stated he left it unattended for approximately 40 minutes while he went inside the library.

Man Arrested After Fight at Train Station

At 9:40 pm, Patrol Units responded to the Main Line Train Station on a report of a fight in progress.  Upon arrival, P.O. Annamarie Mattina, P.O. Matthew Stanislao and officers from the Ridgewood Police Department tended to victim, who suffered serious head injuries.  Sgt. Frank Riggio and other members of the Ridgewood Police Department took custody of the other party involved in the fight.  The victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.  The other party, a 50 year old Hawthorne man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.  N.J. Transit Police Department, Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, and the Detective Bureau were notified and responded.  Bergen County Sheriff's Department, Crime Scene Unit responded to assist in the gathering of evidence.  The man who was charged, was unable to post $50,000 bail and was transported to Bergen County Jail to await his first court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

Detective James Calaski charged a 39 year old Passaic man with fraudulent use of a credit card as well as credit card theft.  The man was charged following an investigation by the Glen Rock Police Department detective bureau.

At 11:54 am, A Radburn Rd resident reported that unknown person(s) had entered her home and removed several items from the residence.  With the help of the Bergen County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Unit, detectives gathered evidence and began their investigation.

At 10:44 pm, P.O. Robert Surdyka arrested four 18 year old Glen Rock residents while checking a suspicious vehicle.  While speaking to the occupants of the vehicle, P.O. Surdyka found that they were all in possession of marijuana.  The four parties were charged with possession of C.D.S. and released pending a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

At 1:19 am, patrol units responded to the intersection of Maple Ave and Ferndale Ave on a report of a motor vehicle accident.  Upon arrival, patrol units found a single car motor vehicle accident in which the vehicle had struck a telephone pole.  The male driver was taken to Valley Hospital for treatment.  The man, a 25 year old Ridgewood resident, was subsequently arrested by P.O. Michael Trover and charged with driving while intoxicated.  The man's vehicle was impounded in accordance to John's Law and he was issued several summons.  The man was released at the hospital to a family member pending a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

Numerous Thefts from  Motor Vehicles

At 4:09 am, P.O. Michael Trover discovered several vehicles in the area of Princeton Pl with their interior lights on.  After determining that the vehicles had just been entered, a perimeter was set up with the assistance of Sgt. Frank Riggio and P.O. Bryan Scott along with the Hawthorne and Ridgewood Police Departments.  A Bergen County Police K-9 unit assisted in searching the area for a suspect with negative results.  In total, 10 unlocked vehicles had been entered and 8 vehicles had items taken from them.  The Glen Rock Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating.  The Glen Rock Police Department would like to remind all residents to lock their vehicles when unattended.

Warrant Arrest

At 5:09 pm, P.O. Lucas Doney arrested a 24 year old Fair Lawn man during the course of a motor vehicle stop, after it was determined that the man had an outstanding warrant out of the Emerson Municipal Court.  The man posted $250 bail and was released.

MV Stop Leads to Two Warrant Arrests

At 1:12 am, P.O. Bryan Scott arrested a 20 year old Paterson woman during the course of a motor vehicle stop, after it was determined that the driver had outstanding warrants out of the Glen Rock and Paterson Municipal Courts.  Sgt. Frank Riggio arrested the 21 year old passenger in the vehicle after it was determined that she had an outstanding warrant out of the Glen Rock Municipal Court.  Both woman posted bail on their warrants and were released.

Burglary Foiled By Alarm

At 7:52 pm, a Delmar Avenue resident reported that unknown person(s) were attempting to break into her home.  Officers arrived within minutes to find a rear door forced open.  A check of the area by patrol units from Glen Rock, Ridgewood, Fair Lawn, and the Bergen County K-9 unit turned out negative results.  Upon further investigation, the unknown person(s) were scared off by the audible burglar alarm from the home. The matter was turned over to the detective bureau for further investigation.

At 4:22 am, P.O. Michael Trover arrested a 22 year old Ridgewood resident while conducting a motor vehicle stop.  While responding to a call of a suspicious vehicle, a motor vehicle stop was conducted by P.O. Michael Trover where he found several packages of a controlled dangerous substances and multiple drug paraphernalia.  The woman was charged with possession of c.d.s. and possession of drug paraphernalia and released pending a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

At 9:42 pm, officers responded to a disturbance in the area of Lincoln Avenue and Princeton Place.  Upon arrival, officers found an underage drinking party in progress.  P.O. Annamarie Mattina arrested a juvenile and charged him with underage possession of alcohol.  The juvenile was released to a parent pending a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

Rollover Leads to Arrest

At 11:49 am, patrol units responded to the intersection of Prospect Street and Ackerman Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle rollover.  Upon arrival, patrol units did find a vehicle resting on its roof, with a person trapped in the driver seat.  The man was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment.  The man, a 48 year old Glen Rock man, was subsequently arrested by P.O. Scott McGovern and charged with driving while intoxicated.  The man's vehicle was impounded in accordance to John's Law and he was issued several summons.  The man was released from the hospital to a family member pending a mandatory court appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

At 9:32 am, A Prospect Street resident reported that unknown person(s) had entered his home and removed cash from the residence.  With the help of the Bergen County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Unit, detectives gathered evidence and began their investigation.  Detective Bureau is currently investigating.

At 11:07 pm, P.O. Murray Yang arrested a 22 year old Waldwick man, subsequent to a motor vehicle stop, after it was determined the man had a active criminal warrant out of New York City.  The man was later released pending a court date in New York City.

Motor Vehicle Stop Leads to Arrest

At 3:37 pm, during the course of a motor vehicle stop,  P.O. Greg Carter arrested a 20 year old woman and a 19 year old man, both from Paterson after it was discovered that the woman was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance and the man was in control of a knife.  The woman was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and the man was charged with criminal possession of a weapon.  Both parties were released pending a mandatory court date.

Home Burglarized, Vehicle Stolen

At 7:20 pm, P.O. Annamarie Mattina, P.O. Murray Yang, and P.O. Michael Ciaramella responded to a home on Oxford Place on a report of a burglary in progress.  Upon arrival, officers found that unknown person(s) had entered the home through a unlocked basement window and removed jewelry and silverware.  It was also discovered that the vehicle belonging to the resident was missing.  Officers checked the area for the actor(s) and the vehicle with negative results.  Bergen County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Unit responded to assist in collecting evidence.  Detective Bureau is currently investigating.

At 10:30 pm, a Griswold Place resident reported that unknown person(s) entered her vehicle and removed approximately $1400 worth of electronics and tools.  Detective Bureau was notified.  Glen Rock Police Department would like to remind all residents to lock their vehicles when unattended.

At 11:11 pm, a Hamilton Avenue resident reported that while the family was away, unknown person(s) entered their home through a unlocked window and removed approximately $4500 worth of cash and electronics.  The Bergen County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Unit responded to assist in the collecting of evidence.  Detective Bureau is investigating.

Juvenile Arrested for Drugs

At 2:46 pm, P.O. Greg Carter arrested a 17 year old New Milford juvenile subsequent to a motor vehicle stop after it was discovered that the juvenile was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.  She was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of drug manufacturing material used for distribution. The juvenile was released to the custody of her parents pending a mandatory court appearance.
