The Glen Rock Police Department
is
NOT currently accepting applications for the position of Probationary Police
Officer.
Qualifications
of Police Department Members
1.
Each
applicant for a position as an officer or member of the Police
Department shall:
(a) Be a citizen of the
United States
and comply with all existing
residence requirements.
(b) Be more than 18 and less
than 35 years of age. In
addition, each applicant shall possess a two-year college degree
from an accredited institution or an honorable discharge from the
Armed Forces of the
United States .
(c)
Be sound in body and of good health sufficient to satisfy the
Board of Trustees of the Police Retirement System of New Jersey
that such person is eligible for membership in the retirement
system.
(d) Be able to read, write and
speak the English language well and intelligently.
(e) Be of good moral character
and must not have been convicted of any crime involving moral
turpitude.
(f) In accordance with
N.J.S.A. 52:17B-68 serve a probationary period pending his or her
successful compilation of the course in a recognized police
school.
(g)
Police Training Commission certified REQUIRED
2.
All applicants for the position of Police Officer shall
make written application in the form of a resume and cover letter to the Chief of Police and at the same
time submit such proof as shall be requested with respect to the
above qualifications.

School Crossing Guards
The Glen Rock Police Department would like to maintain a list
of substitute or temporary crossing guards to help fill in
when needed. Often, when a current guard retires, his or her
replacement is chosen from the list of substitutes. Please

records desk for an application.

Auxiliary
Police Officer
Applications for Auxiliary
Police Officer volunteers are being accepted at this time.
Please contact Sgt. Robert Wojtecki at (201)652-3800 for further
information. Membership is open to any borough resident
(or close proximity) that is 18 years of age or older, has a
valid New Jersey drivers license and no criminal record. All
applicants must undergo a background investigation conducted by
the Glen Rock Police Detective Bureau.
